ATAG Aviation Net Zero Dialogue

May 2022

ATAG – representing all sectors of commercial aviation – invites governments, ICAO representatives, the aviation industry, the energy sector and other stakeholders to attend the Aviation Net-Zero Dialogue on Thursday 26 May 2022 in Montreal.

In October 2021, the global air transport industry adopted a new long-term goal to address its climate change impact by committing to net-zero carbon emissions by 2050. The declaration was signed by the CEOs and leaders of the following: ACI, Airbus, ATR, Boeing, CFM, CANSO, Collins Aerospace, Embraer, GAMA, GE Aviation, IATA, IBAC, ICCAIA, Pratt & Whitney, Rolls-Royce and SAFRAN.

The purpose of the ATAG Aviation Net-Zero Dialogue is to explain and encourage discussion on the various pillars of action to achieve industry decarbonisation.  There will be a particular focus on accelerated energy efficiency measures, energy transition, innovation across the aviation sector and the importance of working in partnership with governments around the world.

Participation in the Dialogue is by invitation. The following are eligible to register: airlines, airports, ANSPs, manufacturers, fuel and energy sector companies, financial institutions, carbon offsetting and carbon removal companies, suppliers of products and services for aviation, start-ups, aviation associations, environmental groups, law firms, consultants, travel and tourism organisations, universities, civil aviation authorities, ministers, other government entities and ICAO representatives. ICAO CAPSCA Symposium

March 2022
This Symposium will bring together CAPSCA Members and Partners, Civil Aviation Authorities (CAAs), Public Health Authorities (PHAs), personnel of the national emergency committee, focal points of national ‎facilitation committees and other industry stakeholders. Discussions will include the major challenges civil aviation faces during different types of public health events and the identification of lessons learnt from the COVID-19 pandemic.‎
The expected outcome of the Symposium is to improve the effectiveness of prevention and management ‎of public health risks in aviation, strengthen the CAPSCA Programme framework, build resilience for similar events in future and report the outcome to the ICAO Assembly in September 2022.‎
The Symposium will be conducted over a three-day period by means of a three-hour session every day from 09:00 to 12:00 hours EDT (13:00 to 16:00 UTC). It will be conducted in English.

ICAO Security Culture Webinar

February 2022

Nina Brooks from ICCAIA will be taking part in an an ICAO webinar highlighting the importance of Security Culture. Speakers will highlight available security culture best practices and resources and share security culture guidance, tips and tools. The event will emphasize that achievements from the Year of Security Culture in 2021 will be carried forward as a permanent focus on security culture by all in aviation.
